What is Dementia Care?

Dementia is a neurological condition that affects a person’s ability to remember things, think critically and communicate with others like they used to. Those living with dementia can continue to live a content life with the right care and support, and at a dementia care home, a team of professionals will support residents with daily care needs as well aid in retaining a sense of self and independence for as long as possible.

The level of dementia care often differs from care home to care home. Some care homes may offer low level dementia support, while others can look after the resident from diagnosis all the way until end-of-life. The dementia unit in a care home or nursing home will usually offer dementia-friendly activities and alternative therapies which help individuals to feel safe and happy in a homely environment.

Residential Dementia Care

Residential Dementia Care is a care type provided to older people who require additional support with daily duties following a diagnosis of Dementia. As we grow older, it is common for the condition to develop and for daily tasks to become harder to complete due to memory loss and other factors. Our care teams go above and beyond to provide the highest standards of person-centred care which aids residents in living a life they can enjoy and eliminating any worries or frustrations.

Residents can treat our care home as their very own home, making use of the many services and amenities on offer to them while not needing to worry about household responsibilities. Our care staff are available around-the-clock to assist residents while encouraging independence where possible. Our mission is to ensure every resident’s health and well-being requirements are satisfied.

Providing Our Support at Every Step

We understand that each person looking for care has unique needs and circumstances. That’s why we carry out a care assessment on all residents following the admission process in order to customise a care plan that is solely tailored to them. If you are looking for care on behalf of a loved one, we invite you to chat with our friendly team where they can provide in-depth evaluation, recommend a suitable care method as well as answer any questions you may have for peace of mind.

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, who are an independent regulator that inspects and assesses the quality of health and social care in England. This ensures both residential care homes and nursing homes in England meet a high standard of care within all areas of the home and who will support improvements of the facility if deemed necessary. We are committed to providing a homely, welcoming environment that supports all care needs and interests.
