Our Garden Club is in Full Bloom!

There’s something quite special about the simple pleasure of a warm afternoon spent outdoors, and our new terrace has quickly become a cherished part of daily life here at Longbridge Deverill. The space is currently being used by residents and staff to enjoy everything from a hot drink to lively chats, music sessions and meaningful gardening activities.
Since its opening, the terrace has welcomed groups of residents who gather regularly for tea and a chat, but it’s the sensory gardening that has mostly sparked our residents' interest. Our activities and well-being team have worked closely with residents to choose edible plants that can be enjoyed both for their looks and their scent. From the initial planning to the regular trips to our local garden centre, residents have played an active part in shaping the garden. The gardening itself has become a therapeutic and enjoyable event, with everyone taking pride in watching our outdoor areas transform.

Since starting our garden club again, we’ve seen how this project has increased our residents' confidence and sense of connection. As the summer continues, the terrace will remain a key part of daily life here, offering residents the chance to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the fresh air and feel a true sense of community. Whether it's sipping tea among the flowers or simply chatting with friends in the warm breeze, the new terrace is already making a real difference to well-being.
