Father’s Day Celebrated in Summer Style

This month, we welcomed residents and their loved ones for a joyful afternoon in the sunshine, celebrating Father’s Day with a summer garden party. It was a wonderful opportunity to honour the gentlemen living at Longbridge Deverill with an event full of warmth, laughter and connection.

The garden was in full bloom and was a beautiful setting for families to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Staff, residents and visitors shared food, stories and smiles as music floated through the garden, creating a truly relaxed and uplifting atmosphere. Our care team took great pride in ensuring all of the brilliant men in our home were celebrated in the way they deserve.

Our activities team also organised a special outing to a local motor museum, as this is something many of our residents are interested in. The day brought back fond memories for many, especially for those who had spent their younger years behind the wheel or under the bonnet. These moments of reminiscence are not only enjoyable but also play a valuable role in mental and emotional well-being.

The purpose behind this Father’s Day celebration was to acknowledge the important role that fathers, grandfathers, and father figures have played throughout the lives of those in our care. We know how vital it is to mark these moments and give our residents the chance to feel seen, valued and appreciated. Events like these also allow families to create new memories together, strengthen their relationships and add to our strong sense of community.

For our team at Longbridge Deverill, it was truly heartwarming to see so many smiles and hear the sounds of laughter echoing around the garden. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do and we are proud to celebrate them every day.
