Doing What Our Residents Love Most!

At Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home, we know that sometimes the simplest experiences can bring the greatest joy. Over the past few months, our Activities and Wellbeing team have been busy creating regular opportunities for residents to enjoy days out together and the results have been truly heart-warming.
One outing sparked fond memories as residents wandered through the Motor Museum, pointing out cars from their younger years and sharing stories of family holidays and first driving lessons. It was lovely to see conversations flow so naturally, with the exhibits bringing back moments from the past in such a vivid way.

On another sunny afternoon, a group of our residents headed to a nearby farm. There was plenty of laughter as residents met the animals, and a trip wouldn’t have been complete without trying the farm’s homemade ice cream. Sitting together outdoors with a cone in hand felt like a small but impactful treat for our residents.
The adventure continued with a lively trip to a wildlife safari park, where excitement grew as animals appeared up close. Residents’ reactions ranged from wide-eyed amazement to chuckles of delight, and it was clear the experience created a wonderful buzz of energy for everyone.

The most unique day for our residents was spent enjoying a leisurely ride alongside some furry companions. The animals brought a sense of fun and warmth that words hardly capture. Smiles were everywhere, and the joy was shared between residents, carers and even passers-by who stopped to wave.
What shines through most from these outings is not just the variety of experiences, but the sense of togetherness they create. They give residents the chance to connect, to share laughter, to reminisce and to make new memories. If you’d like to find out more about the vibrant community here or arrange a visit, get in touch. Our team would be delighted to welcome you.
